Assign IFC classifications to the groups and components that must carry BIM meaning.

Start a 3D model export and choose IFC as the file type.

Open Options and select the IFC version, spatial hierarchy and geometry representation.

Decide whether the export should include the full model, the current selection or hidden geometry.

Confirm the options, export the file and inspect it in an IFC viewer for missing or misclassified objects.

Prepare a view or selection that contains only the model content required for exchange.

Choose IFC as the Save As file type, or use Publisher for a repeatable issue workflow.

Select the Translator for Export that matches the receiving application and project purpose.

If the translator needs adjustment, review its geometry conversion, data mapping and classification rules.

Save the IFC, then verify stories, layers, classifications and properties in the receiving viewer.

Prepare IFC entities, hierarchy, property sets and a base point when project coordinates require one.

Select the objects to issue, or leave the model unselected when the complete model is required.

Open the unified export dialog.

Choose the IFC version first, then set export type, selection, location, colors, layers and property sets.

Export the model, review the generated log and reinsert it as a reference model when a round-trip check is needed.

Open the drawing in AutoCAD Architecture or the MEP toolset and confirm that AEC objects are classified correctly.

Launch the native IFC exporter.

Enter the project identification, file location and description required for the exchange.

Use Options to control the IFC setup and include resource or assignment data when the project requires it.

Export the drawing and check both the IFC model and its log for skipped or incorrectly mapped objects.

Finalize the steel model and preselect objects only when the issue should contain a defined subset.

Open the IFC command from the exchange-format tools.

Choose the destination file and the IFC option available in your installed release.

Use the IFC-MVD fabrication option only when the receiving steel workflow specifically requests it.

Complete the export and inspect members, plates, connections and assembly organization in an independent viewer.

Complete the framing model and create or refresh its 3D representation.

Set the IFC Export Flavour to match the receiver: Generic, Revit or SAP2000.

Run the dedicated IFC export from Model space.

Choose the local output location and let Structure create the model exchange file.

Open the IFC independently and check member thicknesses, layer names, frame hierarchy and orientation.

Open the building model and review the objects that are enabled for IFC output.

Use the IFC tab introduced in Vertex BD 2026, or the established export command.

Choose the IFC version and set the coordinate origin and north direction required by the project.

Select standard, Vertex or user-defined property sets and confirm the entities included in the export.

Export the model, or use the 2026 batch option when every panel must be written to a separate IFC file.

Open the completed ScotSteel project and refresh the 3D framing model before issuing it.

Locate the one-click IFC export control supplied with your ScotSteel release.

Choose the destination and file name presented by the installed export dialog.

Generate the IFC and inspect framing geometry, item names, floor position and model orientation.

Use the exported IFC for clash coordination or BIM project management, not as a substitute for the production file sent to ScotRF.
